Duties and responsibilities
Providing legal support as part of a sizeable in-house legal team on aircraft leasing, financing and trading transactions, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and providing advice on transaction structures to various business teams.
Providing legal advice on structures, documentation and compliance issues related to aircraft leasing, financing and trading transactions.
Instructing and preparing briefs to external legal counsel.
Reviewing all commercial contracts relating to the day-to-day operations of the Company and assisting in negotiations where appropriate.
Assisting department head in leading and coaching the junior team.
Developing documentation required by various business teams, including document templates, and company policy and procedures.
Assisting in the Company’s corporate approval process, corporate governance and compliance matters.
Qualifications
Qualified to practice law in Ireland, UK, Hong Kong, Australia or Singapore.
Minimum five years’ post qualification experience in aircraft leasing and financing work with an international law firm, aircraft leasing or trading entity, or a financial institution.
Strong organizational skills and be able to work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, with a strong command of both written and spoken English and an ability to draft concisely and accurately.
Commercially astute, energetic and able to operate independently and lead projects.

Qualifications

Monitor and analyse debtor (airline)’s credit related matters, such as historical financial, credit and business performance, timely prepare credit monitoring and financial report to Risk Management Department, senior management and other relevant departments on a quarterly basis;
Closely monitor the credit rating and performance of debtor (airlines) to timely notify in case of debtor’s credit deterioration;
Maintain and update airlines credit rating table;
Monitor and analyse macro economy, geopolitical risks, aviation industry, financial market and conduct deep-dive research to specific risks when required;
Perform annual internal audit by preparing audit plan, identifying audit scope, performing evaluation and testing of control effectiveness with written final report;
Perform initial review on the assessment of the Company’s operational risk, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to assess risk exposures and implement controls, maintain risk register, and monitor the implementation status on risk mitigation strategies by relevant departments and prepare draft report to senior management;

Qualifications

HKICPA / CPA qualified preferred;

Ensuring the integrity of of lease and aircraft data, including, lease technical conditions, and technical specifications, utilisation, in the Company’s Asset Management System;
Maintenance reserve claim processing as per lease agreements and calculation of lessor contributions;
Technical management of the delivery, redelivery and transitioning of aircraft;
Attendance and oversight and of aircraft undergoing major maintenance events and storage;
Performance of annual and pre-purchase inspections of aircraft, and management of external consultants as required;
Review of letter of intent and lease documentation from a technical perspective;
Provision of support to other departments in respect of technical and maintenance-related queries;
Review of configuration specifications and provision of cost estimates for new aircraft deliveries, redeliveries and transitions;
Manage aircraft from a technical perspective throughout their lifecycle;
Updating aircraft usage, maintenance and configuration information and producing reports on a scheduled and as-required basis for internal and external clients;
Developing and maintaining the Company’s maintenance and modification cost databases, and other information databases as required;
Monitoring aircraft incidents and accidents, and reporting on significant events and developments affecting airworthiness and operation of aircraft, and their implication for the Company’s business;

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to be degree qualified or have relevant aviation experience;
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Aircraft Leasing, Airline, MRO or related consultancy company;
Detailed knowledge of the Boeing and Airbus Products both narrow- and wide-body;
In depth knowledge of the CFM and IAE engine types would be an advantage;
Project management experience is required;
Experience with Technical Management Systems for inputting and managing aircraft records;
Self-starter, problem solver, ability to work independently and a can-do attitude;
Good communications skills and the ability to produce technical reports to a high standard;
Collaborative approach to teamwork that supports the company culture;
